Travel Information
Enter the Brookville Rd. entrance to the Forest Glen Army Annex. The Brookville Gate address is approximately 8949 Brookville Rd., Silver Spring, MD. The gate on Linden Ln. is closed.
You will need to show a military ID to the guard or the automatic kiosk at the front gate. If you do not have a military ID, tell the guard you are visiting the Sim Center and you will be directed to the security office for a background check that takes about 20 minutes. Plan accordingly. If you are using GPS navigation such as GoogleMaps, the Brookville Gate address is approximately 8949 Brookville Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20910.
Navigating the parking lots takes additional time, so we suggest allowing an additional 10 - 15 minutes to clear the security gate and to find a convenient parking spot.
Coming from Virginia, Maryland, or DC:
On the Beltway, I-495, take exit 31 B, Georgia Avenue heading SOUTH.
- Take a RIGHT at Seminary Rd., it is the second traffic light after the beltway (not at Seminary Pl., the first right).
- Proceed on Seminary Rd., pass through the first traffic light (Second Avenue), and then bear LEFT at the second traffic light onto Brookville Rd. If you continued straight, you will wind up on Linden Ln. and see a closed gate on the left. If this happens, turn around and return to the intersection, and go RIGHT onto Brookville Rd.
- Travel approximately 1 mile on Brookville Rd. (watch for speed camera trap!) - and you will see a gate to the Forest Glen Army Annex on your right at the traffic light (Stephen Sitter Ave.). Stop at the gate to show ID.
Once on the base:
- Continue through the gate to a 4-way stop sign, Full stop, then proceed straight and follow the road that curves to the right, and then down a hill.
- Make a RIGHT at the bottom of the hill which is Forney Rd. See signs for USUHS Simulation Center.
- On Forney Rd., make your first LEFT onto Holland Rd. Continue straight to a full stop at the first stop sign. Proceed straight on the road through the open traffic gates until you come to the end of the road. Make a LEFT into the north parking lots.
- Park and look for the green overhangs of a walkway that leads to the entrance of the Sim Center. Follow directions to the Val G. Hemming Sim Center MAIN entrance (BLDG 163) signs found on the columns.

NOTE: DO NOT park in the Commissary 2 Hour Parking, handicapped spaces, or speed on the base (speed limit: 15 mph) - you may be ticketed by base police.
