Strategic Partnerships

Since its inception, the SimCenter has actively sought collaboration with other public and private sector organizations involved in medical simulation. Many of these collaborations have evolved into partnerships that focus on research; curriculum development; validation of simulations and simulators.

One such partnership is the Mid-Atlantic Consortium of Clinical Skills Centers representing 9 medical schools in the Mid-Atlantic region. The collaborative fosters new innovations in clinical skills assessment involving human simulation (SPs). Another partnership is with the Defense Medical Modeling and Simulation office at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) which allows our SimCenter to interface with simulation policy leaders in the Army’s Central Simulation Committee, the Navy’s Medical Modeling and Simulation Training Program (NMMAST) and the Air Force Medical Modeling and Simulation Training Program (AFMMAST).

Other collaborations include the National University of Singapore, the Department of Homeland Security, the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS, and the Office of Attending Physician of the U.S. Capitol.

Academic Health Center collaboratives include the University of Maryland, The University of Pittsburgh, The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, the Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, AZ and the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey CA (NPS). The NPS and USU have partnered since 2013 to develop and deliver a one year graduate level certificate in healthcare simulation.
