Welcome

To one of the world’s most advanced medical education centers.

The Val G. Hemming Simulation Center is a world leader in development and application of medical simulation programs. The Sim Center is part of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) located in the Forest Glen Annex, Silver Spring, Maryland.

The Sim Center is comprised of several divisions: the Clinical Skills Laboratory, the Hybrid Simulation Laboratory, and the Virtual Medical Environments Laboratory, as well as a robust and varied simulation research program.

Each of our laboratories can function independently or work cooperatively, depending on the needs of the learner and the course goals and objectives. Medical and nursing students attend 25 to 35 distinct training sessions during their time at USUHS, and can employ the operations of the entire center for their learning.
